I have really been enjoying the work of Dolan Geiman lately. Found thanks to a post by Bloesem, I immediately loved the strong, warm, eclectic feel. Using handmade and eco-friedly techniques, Dolan creates paintings, collages, and box prints on wood. All available for purchase through his website.
Came across these today by Jan Skácelík, a graphic designer / photographer / composer in Olomouc Czech Republic, and thought they were fun. Kind of the Maria Holmer Dahlgren take on the Star Wars series.

Maybe it was the previous World Map post that got me started, but here is another wall mural post. Since 2002 Blik has been collaborating with artists and designers to produce some pretty great wall decals. They range in price and in difficulty of installation, but I have found both to be pretty reasonable. I have even seen some of these in a few restaurants, and in a hotel we stayed in recently.
During the design process I constantly come across things to remember for another project. Some time ago I came across these maps from Murals Your Way ,and Pedlars and I set them aside to use in our daughters’ room. Maps are a great feature for a child’s room, because they are usually not expensive, and available in various sizes from 24×36” to full wall size. For a more antique look you might try your local second hand store or antique dealer.
