For their first home together, Mia and Mikael were looking for something with a touch of history.
“We wanted an old house with charm and character,’ says Mia. ‘Everything becomes more interesting when it ages – even people.”
I completely agree with that sentiment, and I think the results of their effort is a comfortable home with a bit of a story to tell about both the home, and it’s inhabitants. To see more images click below, and of course to read more head on over to Ikea Family Live.

I think my favorite part of this apartment is that table, and the open storage. I can’t stand cupboards in the kitchen, and as soon as our children are big enough, off come the doors!

This feel of this place reminds me of a home in Southern California I lived in for a time when I was young. It has the same leafy plants scattered around, the mix of finished and rough materials, drawers and cupboards that stick when it gets too humid, and a floor worn from bare and sandy feet. The windows stayed open, and the fans on day and night. Our dog’s favorite place was either under the table with her chin on your foot, or on the patio in the shade of the banana tree.

Located in Copenhagen, this apartment belongs Anne Louise Breiner of BaLlab. There is a lot to love, like how she took a relatively small space and turned it into an open, comfortable home for her family. A while back The Selby posted this shoot at the home of Misha Hollenbach and Shauna Toohey, both artists and designers of P.A.M. As with all the The Selby’s work, I have looked through these pictures so many times and yet am still constantly inspired by them. I don’t know why I haven’t posted more until now. This home is one of my favorites. From the photos, I love the way the different spaces are intertwined with one another, each one literally overflowing with life. You can clearly see that each space is used thoroughly, every day, as a real home should be. To see more of this amazing apartment click the link below, and pay a visit to The Selby.

Browsing some of my favorite places on the internet, came across this post over at Design Attractor and had to share. I wish I knew more about this lovely French loft space, but all I know is that it’s French, its a loft, and it is absolutely filled with beautiful natural light. I absolutely love the craft/work space. We are working on a similar type of space in our new home (which we are loving) and its coming together slowly as we decide exactly what it needs to be (I’m sure pictures of it will find there way on here when its done).
