SUNDBYBERG APARTMENT
As our children grow we are becoming more aware of the smallness of our apartment. Pretty soon we will have outgrown our home (if we haven’t already). I think that is why I keep finding myself drawn to open and airy spaces like this apartment in Sundbyberg, Sweden. I love the way the view seems to trickle into every room, especially in the kitchen where the pair of windows and a bench beneath provide the perfect spot to sit and sip a morning coffee. The floor plan is kept open by using wall mounted shelving wherever possible, and the combination of light and natural finishes creates a very calming atmosphere. I really like is the spice/small storage shelving built in over the oven. The shoe shelf in the entry is a nice touch as well, again keeping clutter off the floor. Although a perforated or metal wire shelf system would allow dirt/moisture to fall through the shelf and onto the floor where it can be swept away, keeping the shelf and walls clean and dry.
