FITZROY HOME | KAT CHADWICK & ANDREW BUDGE

Melbourne illustrator Kat Chadwick and designer/typographer Andrew Budge  share this beautiful home in Fitzroy, an inner city suburb of Melbourne.   The duo put plenty of elbow grease into this 150 year old home, and it shows.   I love the Ilve stove, which according to Andrew was an ebay score for $150! (Plus $350 shipping).   Thanks to Kat and Andrew for sharing their home, and thanks to The Design Files once again for sharing such amazing photos and inspiration!

PAPILLIONAIRE BICYCLES

Papillionaire, a Melbourne based bicycle company, produces some of the classiest bicycles around.  I just love the classic dutch simplicity and vintage touches.  Take a look at their online store (which lets you create your dream bike right before your eyes!), or if you are in the neighborhood take a test ride.

MELBOURNE HOME | LARA CAMERON

Lara Cameron, of the amazing Ink & Spindle, was kind enough to share some photos of her Melbourne Home.  After you are done admiring everything you see, go and take a peek at the Ink & Spindle website, as well as their shop, and an interview she gave with the team over at The Design Files.  Enjoy!

DIY CHEVRON BLADES | DESIGN SPONGE

Halligan over at Design Sponge posted a really great DIY idea for customizing a ceiling fan.  I don’t have a ceiling fan, but if I did I would try this out for sure.   I can think of several other ways to use the same idea though.

APARTMENT | MALMÖ

Located in Malmö, this apartment dates back to 1934.  Even thought it has been completely refurbished, they did a good job of maintaining the original charm.  I think the floors are one of my favorite parts of the place, not to mention the amazing and huge paneled windows that can all be opened.   That window bay in the main room must be a great place to relax with both side windows open and the cross breeze blowing through.   I also really love that the dining area and kitchen are given one large space.   Preparing and serving meals could be a real family event in a space like that.
