Potentially my favorite part of the Ace (and maybe the only real reason you would need a hotel room?) is the bed. I have never experienced a bad night’s sleep in an Ace Hotel. One of the things that makes their beds so amazing, is that wool blanket. Woven in Pendelton Oregon and finished in Washington, those blankets are as local as the Ace Hotel. Pendleton is a 140 year old company based in the Pacific Northwest. If you want a blanket just like the Ace, they will send you one. All you have to do is send an order form, check here for details.
Outside of the Ace, there are lots of other ways to get your own woolen winter warmer. Here are a few.
Go to the source. Pendleton is a 140 year old company based out of the Pacific Northwest, just like the Ace Hotel. Their blankets are virgin wool and cotton, so one order from here, and your bed can be as wonderful as the Ace.
Woolrich has some great options for less than $100.00 (quite a steel). Their blankets were supplied to troops from 1861-1865 during the Civil War.
Velocity is another great alternative. They offer many other great home accessories, in addition to the wool blankets. Their blankets start around $100.00-$125.00.
“Drawing on inspiration from traditional British textile crafts such as Welsh tapestry and Scottish tweed” Lekker blankets are woven at a small traditional style mill in Wales.
Toast will offer you a Canadian alternative woven in the only mill in Atlantic Canada using virgin wool.
